WUSMOAA Holiday greetings

Dear alumni,

On behalf of our alumni association, I wish you and your family a great holiday season!

1. Alumnus XI Zhengxiong leading research in drug addiction

1. I also want to bring you the great news that Dr. XI Zhengxiong's work on drug addiction is published on the Society for Neuroscience website: http://apu.sfn.org/content/AboutSFN1/NewsReleases/am2005_advances.html. His lab is one of the few that made break through in this exciting field. I highly recommend the article.

2. During the Neuroscience meeting in Washington DC, there has also been several group meetings among our alumni. Drs. XI Zhengxiong and SHEN Hui hosted old folks from the Department of Physiology, and Drs. Xi, Shen, CHEN Xiangdong, XIONG Guoxiang, CAI Yidao and ZHONG Shen met seperately. They exchanged information about themselves and about our medical school or Wuda in general. They also discussed potential collaborations. It was nice to find old friends have changed so much or so little.

3. Dr. YIN Zhinan contributed several pictures of his recent visit of medical school (http://www.wuda-alumni.org/post/). Dr. XIA Bing, director of Department of Internal Medicine and Geratrics of Zhongnan Hospital, visited several US cities while he is hosted by Dr. Yin's lab in their research collaboration. Dr. Xia barely escaped hurricane Rita in Houston and Galveston when he visited the cities in September.

4. This month also marks the 10th anniversary of our alumni web site, which started on Nov. 11, 1995 on Dr. CAI Yidao's personal web space at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Two years ago, we switched to commencial hosting in order to further expand our services. The current web hosting was paid for by Drs. CAI Yidao, KANG Xiaoqiang and ZHONG Shen, through July 2006. We anticipated that future hosting cost to be paid by advertising on our web pages. Please visit our advertisers and support our alumni web site. The ads provided by google is paid as you click, amazon.com and buy.com give us 5% back if you visit from links on our site, and visa.ywpw.com contribute 10% to our web site if you apply Chinese visa from that site (you also get the lowerest price).

5. Mt. Diablo Summit Hike, by bay area wuda alumni, the highest summit in bay area, It's 3845 feet high. Contact sli98 @ hotmail . com
