Dear alumni,

I am happy to report to you that we had a happy alumni gathering on the
occasion of Chinese New Year on February 2nd, thanks to the great effort
of Vice President Zheng Shen and numerous activitists. There are more than
20 people (alumni and their family members) showed up in the reunion luncheon
in Grand Panda restaurant, Laurel, Maryland, from 11.30am to 2.30pm.

There were great discussions among participants on broad issues concerning
our organization, including how to reach members with geographical distances,
and communications between alumni and HBMU/WDHSC. Dr. Kang Xiaoqiang, new
President, HBMU Overseas Alumni Association in 2003 gave a speech. He also
put forward some new ideas and new initiatives that the new term is going to
roll out. He will give a detail report to all alumni later.

As the president of the 2002 term, I thank all our members for giving me the
opportunity to serve, and for supporting our work. I especially thank our
council members, who gave me lots of suggestions and stood with me in trying
to make our organization a better one, Dr. Zhong, who did lots of actual work,
and our past presidents, who gave me advices and support.

With this email, we formally hand over the leadership of HBMUOAA to Dr. Kang
and the new term. Let's congradulate Drs. Kang Xiaoqiang and Li Cheng-fu,
the new president and vice president, and Dr. Zhong Shen, the president-elect.
