Chin-Min Hsiang Education Foundation in honor of late Prof. Hsiang

Dear Wuhan University School of Medicine Alumni:

I am writing to ask for your support of the Chin-Min Hsiang Education Foundation (CMHEF). CMHEF is a US based non-profit organization (IRS tax exemption # 26-1191355) in memory of Chin-Min Hsiang, formerly Professor of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, the founder and Director of Virus Research Institute at Wuhan University School of Medicine.

The goal of CMHEF is to promote higher education, particularly to encourage and support advanced studies in biomedical sciences in Wuhan University School of Medicine and to promote social responsibilities among all students. This will be achieved by the Foundation’s “Search for Excellence” program, which awards two students each year from the School of Medicine, one undergraduate and one graduate (or post-doc/junior faculty). In addition, the Foundation plans to organize a biannual symposium in the greater Wuhan area, including sponsoring speakers from the US to travel to China, in efforts to promote scientific exchange and research collaborations.
